When you put the words “hip-hop” and “fashion” together, it’s hard not to think of Jay-Z. Rapper Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is involved in a lot of different business endeavors that revolve around his brand and persona. He’s recently became CEO of Def Jam Records, sold over 33 million records worldwide, co-owns The 40/40 Club and the NBA‘s New Jersey Nets but more importantly (to us), is also the creator of the clothing line Rocawear.
Rocawear grosses over $400 million a year, and is one of the most notable hip-hop clothing lines in the business. Jay-Z and Rocawear are focused on the glamorous and “dressed-up” style of the hip hop look. Rocawear sports clean lines and relaxed fit, which harkens back to the days of Doo Wop.
Rocawear has lines for children and juniors, footwear including socks and sandals, outerwear that includes leather, suede, and fur outerwear, loungewear, fashion for big and tall, and accessories including jewelry, handbags, sunglasses and belts. The company has also teamed with other companies such as Pro-Keds, State Property, and Team Roc to develop and bring new products to market.
In March of this year, the company’s brand was sold to Iconix Brand Group for $204 Million, who owns the rights to the products, although Jay-Z still maintains management control. While under his control, there have been accusations of the use of forbidden or inappropriate furs in his products, those products have since been pulled and no future use in current offerings.
R&B superstar Ciara has signed to be the new face of Rocawear.
In March 2007, Jay-Z sold the rights to the Rocawear brand to Iconix Brand Group for $204 million. Jay-Z will retain his stake in the company and will continue to oversee the marketing, licensing, and product development.[1][6]

I’m not sure what to think of Jay-Z and the free mason stuff and even though caught that ether I’m still a fan of his pre blueprint 2 music and I still think he makes good music at times even though its a lil commercial
