Cruising around the MAGIC showroom, you never know who you are going to meet… or shall I say “discover”. I like to say discover because the word alone conjures up the idea of hidden treasures, valuables or  enlightenment. So when I “discovered” Likuid Nation Clothing in the Street section of MAGIC, I knew right away I was onto something genuine. Likuid Nation is the urban lifestyle brand created by Cam Bennerman, a former NC State standout (leading the Wolfpack in[.....]

Maybe it’s the name, I’ll admit when I first heard it I paid attention, but there is something about Diesel that just makes me think “tough”. Tough like the street or the game or the hustle. A kind of tough that has kept Diesel rising over so many years. Focusing on jeans originally, Diesel now has over 300 stores in 80 countries from small boutiques to Nordstrom’s and Bloomingdale’s. Diesel – very bluntly – is red hot. Even their ads[.....]

Creative apparel company Company of We introduces their Fall/Winter 2009 collection with a metrosexual meets the outdoors collection. The new American brand, which was just launched last month, features a step up from average casual wear with cardigans, blazers and peacoats in soft color shades. While many would say that the look is gender bending / neutral in a metrosexual sort of way, it has an edginess that would appeal to a broad range of buyers in a young professional[.....]

“She had them Apple Bottom Jeans and the boots with the fur!” I know, I know, the song’s been around for months and you’ve probably heard it three thousand times. But honestly! It’s my jam. I can’t hear it without getting low. It happens at awkward times too if it’s stuck in my head: family gathers, in class, at the office. But I digress. The point is, although Apple Bottom has been around since 2003, they are the hot new[.....]

Pants are so last season. Honestly, if you have the body, just run around in a leotard a la Lady Gaga. But if you’re not that confident, but you still want to show off that nice derriere then get yourself some leggings! Choose a synthetic leather, or metallic style to call attention to those beautiful lower bodies that will have all the boys drooling. In mini dresses you’re worried about pulling a Paris Hilton when you get out of the[.....]

For many in the hip hop and urban apparel community, saggy jeans aren’t an issue – in fact, they’re a way of life. But for “the Man” and other authority figures, squares, and general don’t-get-its, saggy pants are a problem. Solving this problem is SAGG(TM) Jean Co. Hip-Hop Urban Clothing, a new African- American owned apparel company that introduces a new style of Jeans that  provide the look without the downside of the underside being visible According to a company[.....]

When you put the words “hip-hop” and “fashion” together, it’s hard not to think of Jay-Z. Rapper Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) is involved in a lot of different business endeavors that revolve around his brand and persona. He’s recently became CEO of Def Jam Records, sold over 33 million records worldwide, co-owns The 40/40 Club and the NBA‘s New Jersey Nets but more importantly (to us), is also the creator of the clothing line Rocawear. Rocawear grosses over $400 million a[.....]
